Defenders 040: Viper

January 16, 2012

We’ve got Viper, master harasser, as suggested by FeelsAlright.  You know what doesn’t feel alirght?  Poison Attack + Nethertoxin.

Viper is probably the best harasser in the game.  Poison Attack, as a clickable/spell orb, doesn’t pull creep aggro when you target an enemy with it.  And Nethertoxin amps up your damage as your enemies life gets lower.  It’s a pretty nasty combination.

Huskar, with his Burning Spears, is up there as well.  People tend to underestimate just how much damage they do when they start stacking, and it can very quickly get out of control.  Or, they over-estimate, and run out of XP range when they get hit even once.

Playing against a someone who is harassing well is one of the most frustrating things for me in this game.  I hate feeling like I just can’t do anything.  I’d rather die than be forced to sit way behind the wave as my opponents basically free farm.

Who do you think has the best harass in the game?

To me, any hero that can orbwalk can effectively harass. It’s annoying having to deal with heros like drow who can just push their opponents away from creep waves.

Silencer really stands out as a harassment hero. He’s got an orbwalk, not to mention his curse of the silent that forces enemy heros to use mana or lose it. This comes as a huge hit to str or agi heros with low mana pools.
